So X-Men Gold Annual has been released today which was basically an Excalibur reunion: Kitty, Kurt and Rachel went to Great Britain to visit Brian, Meggan (former Excalibur teammates) and their newborn child.

I don’t know whose idea was the interaction between the Braddock baby and Kurt, but it was excellent. She just saw three strangers for the first time, and her immediate reaction to Kurt was wanting him to hold her:

Instead of being scared of him, she was just curious why he is different:

The child is a super-smart kid, so why not, they started a rather philosophical conversation about what’s the meaning of “doing good”:

The baby was so comfortable with Kurt, she stayed with him and they watched a movie together to teach her what good means:
(And for some reason she got an oversized cap too)

+ I don’t know if this was intentional, but I’d like to believe that the creators were trying to pay attention to details:

I genuinely enjoyed this issue, it was refreshing after the not so interesting series of Gold. Kurt was finally more like what he should be: cute, funny, even philosophical. And I love when this essential part of him- “I look like a demon but I’m the kindest soul”  is emphasized.
Marvel, give Leah Williams an X-Men book, preferably with Kurt -she seems like she knows how to write him.
I wouldn’t mind a new Excalibur series (strictly with the original team, without separation from rest of the X-Men)

PS: Maggie learns what good means, she shows a villain that revenge isn’t the solution.
And Kurt is a godparent now :)
